This private, foreign-owned corporation is now racing to build 325 miles of pipe in the headwaters of the of the Mississippi in Northern Minnesota, directly affecting Wisconsin. The result would be even more dangerous and unnecessary tar sands oil piped into our communities. Line 3 would also violate the treaty rights of Anishinaabe peoples and nations in its path, wild rice being a centerpiece of Anishinaabe culture.

Panel:
  • Paul DeMain: the Honor The Earth Board of Director, Chair (Oneida/Ojibwe). Former editor of the national news publication, News From Indian Country.
  • Winona LaDuke (Ojibwe): executive director of Honor the Earth, Harvard Educated Economist, and an internationally renowned activist who lives and works on the White Earth reservation in northern Minnesota.
  • Tania Aubid: Local 1855 Akiing Treaty Host for Ojibwe Nation (Ojibwe)
  • Shanai Matteson: Local Community Host - Living on the Mississippi and Willow Rivers

This mural is located in Beloit, near 500 Pleasent St., on the side of the old Ironworks building facing the Rock River.
It is a great tribute to the laborers of the 20th century.
